JUNIOR WING

PRE NURSERY (MOHALI ONLY) : The Emphasis is on skill development. There is no formal assessment.

Classes Nursery to UKG

There is no formal examination. However, the teacher closely monitors and observes the development and growth of the child during the course of the session and the reports of the student are based on these observations.

Classes I to III

Assessment in Classes I - III is an on going process that fosters understanding rather than simply evaluating it. It is based on teacher's observation, class-room tasks, students' interactions and class assignments.

SENIOR WING
Classes IV to VIII

The academic year is divided in two semesters : Each Semester will culminate with a formal evaluation.
Semester I : (April to September) There will be one assessment along with a Half Yearly Examination.
Semester II : (October to March) There will be one assessment along with a Final Examination.
The complete course content for Mathematics and grammar for Hindi, English, Punjabi, French and German of the first semester will feature in the final examination. However for History, Geography, Science the course content taught through Term II alongwith 25% of the course content from Term I will be included in the final exam. Higher order thinking skills, class interaction, consistency of effort, project work etc. will be evaluated on a regular basis and grades will also be reflected in the report card.

Class IX and X

Evaluation is continuous and spread out evenly over the entire academic session.
An academic year has been divided into two terms. The first term will be from April - September and the second term will be from October - March Each term will have two Formative Assessments and one Summative Assessment for evaluation of scholastic areas. The weightage of Formative Assessment (FA) will be 40% and for Summative Assessment (SA) will be 60%.
In addition to the scholastic areas, co-scholastic areas like life skills, attitudes & values, participation & Achievement in activities involving literacy & creative skills, scientific skills, aesthetic skills and performing arts & clubs, and health & physical education will also be evaluated.
It is mandatory for students to be evaluated in all formative & summative assessments.

Class XI

Evaluation is continuous and spread out evenly over the entire academic session. There is a formal Half Yearly Examination at the end of the first term and a Final Examination at the end of the year.

Class XII

Evaluation is continuous and spread out evenly over the entire academic session. There is a formal Half Yearly Examination and a Pre-board Examination in the month of January 2011 before the Final Examination conducted by the CBSE.
